A darts team that turns up with matching flights looks like a team. It is a small thing, it costs very little, and it is the single cheapest change that makes a side look properly set up rather than eight people who happened to arrive at the same pub.
Here is how to organise it without it turning into a fortnight of chasing people.
Sort the artwork first, before you ask anybody for money
This is where most team orders stall. Somebody has a photo of the pub sign, somebody else has a badge saved on their phone, and none of it is usable.
What actually works, in order of preference:
- An original logo file from whoever designed the pub or club badge. If the pub has ever had a sign made, a banner printed or shirts done, somebody has this file.
- A clean, straight-on photograph of the badge, well lit, filling the frame, with no angle on it.
- A clear description if there is no badge at all. Plenty of teams just want the pub name and each player’s nickname, which needs no artwork at all.
Send whatever you have and you will get an honest answer on whether it will work before anything is committed.
Collect the names in one go
Get every player’s name or nickname in a single message, spelled exactly as they want it on the flight. Not “Dave will tell you his later”. Dave will not tell you later.
Agree in advance whether you are using real names or throwing names. Mixing the two across a set looks like an accident rather than a decision.
Find out what everyone actually throws
This is the step teams forget. Players are particular about flight shape for good reason, and swapping a slim player onto standards will genuinely change how their darts land.
Ask each player for the make and the shape they currently use. K-Flex, Fusion, Nitro and L-Style are all stocked as standard, and other makes can be engraved on request.
You can absolutely have one crest across the whole team with each player on their own preferred shape. The design stays consistent even when the flights do not have to be identical.
Order it as one batch
Order the whole team together rather than in dribs and drabs. Cut in a single batch, the engraving is identical right across the side. Ordered piecemeal over a few months, small variations creep in and the set stops matching, which defeats the entire point.
Ask about timing before you commit
Every set is cut by hand. Get in touch and you will be told when your order will be ready before you pay anything.
If you need them for a presentation night or the start of a season, say so up front. Nobody wants a set of flights arriving the week after the event.
The same applies beyond league sides
Charity nights, works teams, Super League sides and anyone running a tournament who wants something on the prize table that cannot be bought in a shop. One crest, every name, same batch, and it turns up looking like somebody meant it.
